A charter that guarantees
the 5 natural rights
of the farm-bred palmiped.

Right No. 1

The right to suitable feed and free access to drinking water at all times.

Locally-produced cereals and protein crops are the foundation of the palmiped diet.

The breeder undertakes to provide unrestrictedly, just like drinking water.

Fattening, with regard to quantity and to meal frequency, reproduces the natural process of preparation for migration.

The right to a comfortable and healthy environment.

Light, heating, and ventilation are the three key components to a quality environment for animal breeding.

Indoors, the animal can execute the natural movements needed by its species.

Outdoors, it can move around freely.
Right No. 3

The right to maintained and verified good health and safety conditions

Breeders must handle and feed animals in accordance with their knowledge of their physiology, using appropriate equipment, in compliance with the legislation.

The husbandry, hygiene and health of the animal are subject to regular inspections by a specialised technician and/or a veterinarian.

The duck or goose should never be injured, sick or in distress!

The right to preservation of the behaviours natural to their species.

To foster the group instinct, which is characteristic of the species,
breeders are gradually replacing individual spaces with collective spaces.

Collective spaces and outdoor runs, suited to the number of animals,
enabling the expression of their behaviours, both physical and social, typical of palmipeds.

The duck or goose must be able to stay standing, turn around, spread its wings and smooth its feathers!

The right to a reassuring and satisfying human-animal relationship established by the breeder

The breeder limits animal handling to the bare necessities.

To reinforce the animals’ sense of security and satisfaction,
the breeder visits them daily and protects them from the threat of predators.

Attentive to their farm, breeders takes care of their well-being
preventing situations that could cause fear, distress, frustration or apathy.
